VERILY, [O believer,] it is We who have bestowed from on high this Qur'an upon thee, step by step - truly a bestowal from on high! 23 Therefore be patient with constancy to the Command of thy Lord, and hearken not to the sinner or the ingrate among them. 24 And remember the Name of your Lord every morning and afternoon [i.e. offering of the Morning (Fajr), Zuhr, and 'Asr prayers]. 25 And bow in homage part of the night, and glorify Him far into the night. 26 Indeed, these [disbelievers] love the immediate and leave behind them a grave Day. 27 [They will not admit to themselves that] it We who have created them and strengthened their make - and [that] if it be Our will We can replace them entirely with others of their kind. 28 This chapter is a reminder. Let those who want, seek guidance from their Lord. 29 (The virtuous mentioned in this chapter) want only what God wants. God is All-knowing and All-wise. 30 He maketh whom He will to enter His mercy, and for evil-doers hath prepared a painful doom. 31
