Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 Till a limit known? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
