Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
