Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
