Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
