Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
