Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known extent. 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
