The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
