Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
