The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
