The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
