The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
