The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that blow gently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
