The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then he mustered 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
