The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
