He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 you attended to him, 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
