The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the breath of morning 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
