The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the breath of morning 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
