The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
