The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
