The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
