The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
