The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
