The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
