The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
