Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble scribes 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
