In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then he mustered 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
