Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
