Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 noble scribes 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
