The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
