The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
