The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
