The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 when they were seated around it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
