The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 while they sat around it, 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his Message of Islamic Monotheism). 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
