The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 And the promised day, 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 They sat by it 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
