The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By heaven of the constellations, 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
