The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
