The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
