The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and so am I: 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
