Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By heaven and the night-star! 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
