The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
