The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
