Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
