Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
