Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
