Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 labouring, weary, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
