Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a Garden on high, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
