Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
