Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In the high empyrean, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
