Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 And verily the Hereafter will be better for thee than the present. 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11
