And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who sees you when you stand 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
